On Monday, February 22, the Katy ISD Board of Trustees approved the administration’s recommendation to modify the attendance boundaries for Seven Lakes, Cinco Ranch and Taylor High Schools. Only the neighborhoods listed below are impacted by this Attendance Boundary Modification.

Grandfathering and Volunteer Enrollment Option

Under the recommendation approved by the Board, all current high school students are grandfathered to stay at their current campus through graduation. In addition, the Board approved a recommendation to provide families impacted by the Attendance Boundary Modification a one-time Volunteer Enrollment Option (VEO), which would allow those students grandfathered to remain at their current high school to instead choose to move to the new high school. Note: Students who are currently enrolled in high school this year are grandfathered to continue at their current school for the remainder of their high school career. No action is required to continue enrollment at the current school.

Sibling Transfers

Katy ISD recognizes the importance of family involvement with and connection to their child’s high school. Therefore during the boundary modification process of Spring 2010 younger siblings will be allowed a sibling transfer to the high school that an older sibling currently attends so long as the siblings will both be in high school at the same time. If you live in a Land Use Zone (LUZ) that is being moved from Seven Lakes High School to Cinco Ranch High School or from Cinco Ranch High School to Taylor High School. All Kelliwood  subdivisions are named to celebrate Kelli, (see photo), the daughter of award-winning builder and developer Vincent Kickerillo. Kickerillo is the developer of all the Kelliwood sections and the primary builder. In some areas, he is the only builder.

Developed in the 1980’s and continuing even today, the large collection of subdivisions that make up Katy’s  Kelliwood range in price from the $200,000’s to over $1 million. Having been under development for such a long time, the older sections have very established and stately landscaping such as the Kelliwood Section of  Nottingham Country.

Kelliwood  is south of I-10 and predominately feeds off of Fry Rd. It is made up of 13 different subdivisions. There are several very exclusive gated sections,  including Lakes of Buckingham-Kelliwood, pictured above.

Kelliwood neighborhoods are all in the revered Katy Independent School District. This is an important reason that values stay stable. Another critical  factor is the standard of upkeep found throughout the different sections. Residents take great pride in their Kelliwood homes which is apparent from a quick drive-through.

The Willow Fork Country Club, a private club with golf course, is located at the south end of Kelliwood. It is a reasonably priced full-service country club. The general public is allowed to hold certain events, like weddings and meetings, at Willow Fork Country Club.

It makes little sense to quote  “average” Kelliwood prices as the sales prices throughout Kelliwood reflect a tremendous spread.
