About the story: When tragedy pierces the heart of a small community on the quiet Texas plains, (Katy), it’s townspeople witness what can happen when grace and forgiveness triumph over anguish and outrage.

Against the clamorous traffic of our crowded lives, a story of such tender mercy can seem more of a work of fiction or a wishful tale…yet every moment of this unbelievable story is true.

What Others are Saying:

“The Heart of Texas provides a cinematic experience that will last long after the viewing, a true tale of loss and redemption that will become a part your life.”
Ron Maxwell, Writer-Director of “Gettysburg and Gods & Generals”

“I loved this story the first time I saw it….an incredible documentary on the awesome power of God’s love that everyone needs to see.”
Chuck Norris, Actor/Producer/Author of the N.Y.Times Bestseller “Blackbelt Patriotism”

“Down through history, human beings have been wired for stories of sacrifice, courage, redemption and forgiveness. Every man, woman and child has been created with soul-strings running through their lives that reverberate with meaning and power when plucked by certain stories. The Heart of Texas is one of those stories, an unforgettable miracle that would seem almost unbelievable — if it were not 100 percent true. Don’t miss this story. Let it change your life.”
Brian Bird, Co-Executive Producer of Touched By An Angel

“An unforgettable story of forgiveness.”
Michael Landon, Jr. Director/Producer

“Forgiveness is the beginning of the journey Christians take toward spiritual transformation. This movie gives us a clear glimpse of taking the possible and making it the actual. It’s a must see!”

Nearly 20 years ago when I became a Realtor specializing in Katy, it was an entirely different world. Now, Katy’s new construction is pushing into outlying country towns forever changing the lifestyle of these small outposts. One such town is Brookshire just west of Katy on I-10.

Ryland Homes and Ashton Woods Homes have opened their new Brookshire development Willow Creek Farms. The community, being developed in 55S’ lots, is in close proximity to shopping, I-10 and has easy access to the Grand Parkway. Willow Creek Farms will feature over 600 homesites with walking trails, a full Olympic style pool, recreational center, splash pad and a park. The HOA dues will be $450 annually.

In addition to serene country living, one of the most important features of Willow Creek Farms is that the children residents will attend Katy Independent School District as reported by the developer Ryland Homes.

According to the city’s website: The City of Brookshire, Texas was incorporated in 1946. Before that time, it had all of the characteristics of a very small town and farming community. Brookshire has a long history of farming and ranching.

Flat land, productive soil and good rainfall make the area ideal for crops that need a lot of water. Plentiful grass and open land are ideal for the cattle industry. Agriculture was the major reason for the existence of Brookshire. Agriculture storage silos still operate in Brookshire, but not at their peak as they did in past years.

Growth of the neighboring town, Katy, has positioned Brookshire for much more growth. The City of Brookshire is encouraging economic growth in a coordinated, enthusiastic and cooperative approach through civic and business leaders.

It is always best to purchase new construction with the help of a Realtor; it will not cost you anything and it will give you the advice of a professional.

To tour Willow Creek Farms take I-10 West past Hwy 99. Exit Pederson Road off I-10. Go left on Pederson. Community is off Pederson Road at 10023 Willowmoor Lane. Call me and we will tour together!

Compliments of Wikipedia

The Cinco Ranch community goes back to before Texas became a Republic. In the 1820s, pioneer Moses Austin was granted by the Spanish government the authority to settle 300 families in the valleys of the Brazos and Colorado rivers. He died before he was able to accomplish this, but his son Stephen F. Austin was able to complete his father’s wishes, even under the newly established Mexican government. One of the men who moved into these 300 slots of land (each one over 4000 acres (16 km²) was Randolph Foster, whose land spread across Fort Bend and Waller counties and upon which wild horses, deer, Indians and buffalo lived.

Foster’s daughter married Thomas Blakeley, cattleman and future sheriff of Fort Bend County. Their son, Bassett Blakeley, took after his father and grandfather and soon grew into a cowboy and cattleman. Bassett Blakeley owned 15,000 acres (61 km²) of land and 14,000 head of Brahman cattle, along with his grandfather’s land. The cowhands of his Blakeley Ranch annually drove 10,000 head of cattle to the railheads in Kansas.

In 1937, Blakeley sold the working ranch to William Wheless, who convinced four of his friends, J.S. Abercrombie, W.B. Pryon, H.G. Nelms and L.M. Josey—all, like him, wealthy from oil—to become his partners at the ranch. In a nod to its Spanish roots perhaps, they called it Cinco Ranch (”cinco” means “five” in Spanish). Only the Wheless family lived on the ranch, but all of the families visited on many holidays and weekends, making use of a huge clubhouse complete with two bedroom wings. The ranch was not merely involved in cattle—it also had several acres of rice—for years, the main output of Katy, Texas—and peanut production.

In February 1984, the largest raw land transaction in the history of Houston took place when Cinco Ranch Venture, consisting of U.S. Home, the Mischer Corporation, and American General Corporation purchased Cinco Ranch for a 5,000 acre (20 km²) master plan development. American General eventually bought out the other partners. Its current developer is Newland, and it now surpasses 7,200 acres (29 km²).
