The 34th annual Cypress Creek Christmas Bird Count will be held on Friday, January 1st. Each year dozens of bird-watchers, both inexperienced and seasoned, venture out onto the area’s prairie remnants, farms, creeks, and wetlands to catalog the remarkable and dazzling bird life of the Katy Prairie.
Katy Prairie Conservancy will lead a group of Christmas Bird Count participants on an expedition to record birds on the area’s diverse preserves. Katy Prairie Conservancy anticipates that this year’s count will be as exciting as ever with opportunities to potentially see or hear Bald Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, Bobwhite Quail, waterfowl, and over one hundred other species.
If you’d like to assist with the count this year please contact Jaime Gonzalez at 281.660.6683 or by email at jaimegonzalez72@gmail.com.

When developer/builder Vincent Kickerillo ventured west of Highway 6, his first project was Nottingham Country which is located off I-10 West, south of the freeway. I-10 is Nottingham’s northern border with Highland Knolls serving as the southern perimeter. Fry Road is the eastern division while Westgreen denotes the western border. This proximity to I-10 gives Nottingham Country residents one of the quickest Katy commutes into the Energy Corridor or Houston.
During the 1970’s and 1980’s, over 2,500 homes were built in Nottingham Country. There are 10 sections; Section One contains the oldest and least expensive homes. The development was done in stages with the sections numbered in chronological order. Prices range from under $200,000 to over $400,000.
Nottingham Country is in unincorporated Harris County; it is not in either the City of Katy or the City of Houston. However, it is in the revered Katy Independent School District. Read the rest of this entry »

Facebook is great, but Cinco Ranch residents can now enjoy a whole new level of social networking with the launch of MyCincoRanch.com.
As the official Web site of the community, MyCincoRanch.com is an online neighborhood network where residents can check out upcoming activities, join groups, and chat with neighbors via interactive message boards. See example of MyCincoRanch.com announcement above.
There’s a “Classifieds” section where you can buy and sell stuff, and you can also find forms to reserve amenities like The Lake House for your own event.
With so many ways to interact with friends and neighbors, MyCincoRanch.com really puts the “social” in social networking!
For information on Cinco Ranch homes, contact me at 713-818-2404 or via email. You can search all of Houston/Katy MLS from this site. I have sold Katy real estate for over 20 years and would be pleased to assist you in any way I can.
